The situation between the Cardinals and QB Kyler Murray is “alarming,” per Chris Mortensen. Mortensen says Murray feels “scapegoated” by the team and it has created friction between the sides.
“Murray is described as self-centered, immature and a finger pointer,” per Mortensen. “Murray is frustrated with the franchise and was embarrassed by the playoff loss to the Rams and thinks he’s been framed as the scapegoat.”
Mortensen says select veteran players are planning to reach out to Murray to discuss how he can handle adversity better moving forward. The Cardinals expect the situation with Murray to de-escalate after having positive conversations with him in the coming weeks.
